Dance of Destinies – Book 5 of the Galactic Mage Series is Now Available

DD_cover_only_webWell, it seems like “at long last” to me, but I suppose I’ve made pretty good progress getting the fifth installment of the Galactic Mage Series out. There are a lot of plot elements coming together in this book, and I really feel like I’m getting almost halfway decent at telling stories in novel form now, after six books.

If past experience is any indication, I’ll probably look back on the fact I said that right now and, in, say, ten years, I’ll think, “No, dude, you sucked back then, but I hear what you are saying.” I’m never good enough. But, such is the nature of the learning curve. And any artist that has worked at their art for very long can tell you there is this weird back and forth between hating everything you do and thinking you are freaking amazing. So for now,  however long it lasts, I am feeling very full of myself and I just love this one. I have to say that it seems like the easiest reading of them all to me, but maybe it’s because I love all these characters so much . I’ve lived with them all in my head for a very, very, very long time. Continue reading Dance of Destinies – Book 5 of the Galactic Mage Series is Now Available

For starters, Hostiles out, and it’s doing great right now. So a great big THANK YOU to everyone who has picked a copy up! You’re helping it climb the Amazon Hot New Releases chart (this morning it was at number 13), and it’s just awesome to have such great support from the people sharing this story with me.

Hostiles Update – The Galactic Mage Series Progress

Hostiles galley proofs1Well, Hostiles is reeeeally close to being done. I have gotten my galley copies from the printer and delivered them to my proofreaders. I’m reading through my copy, and hopefully everyone else has dropped everything in their lives as well to do this singular task. Barring any unforeseen delays (and incorporating some degree of realism into the plan), I would guess everyone could be done proofreading by around the 12th.

Once I have all the notes back with any typos or whatever, I will go in and double check all the comments. I will then add the fixes to a master proof, which I will send back to Fernando to fix in the print file. Hopefully he can get that done in a day or two, but I never know how that’s going to go. He went and had kids and stuff without my permission, so now he tries to tell me he has family priorities getting in the way sometimes, which is just crazy talk. Rift in the Races: Draft Progress and Cover Update for April

I took a little five day vacation break, and now that I’m back, I feel refreshed. After three months writing pretty much every day, it was nice to step away from the keyboard for a few days and go see what the sun looks like. I had no idea that thing was so bright. It turns out, it even has this strange warming effect when its rays strike your skin. These are the things we forget when we dwell constantly in the dark cave of our writing dens. (Which I love and am very glad to get back into… that sun is a hot thing and turns our pale flesh pink with its cosmic violence!). (Uh… why am I talking like Golem now?) So, anyway, now I’m back, and wanted to let everyone know where the draft is and where the cover art is as of the end of April.
